Benner C, "SOTO-USA Announces Certification Program"

Certification offers recognition for completion of a course of study beyond the First Professional Degree. SOT is more than an adjusting technique, but rather an indicator based method of Chiropractic that addresses the functional well being of the whole person. As such, the study of SOT and competent application of all the components requires dedication, study and hard work.

SOTO-USA has developed a course structure that clearly and concisely outlines the principles of SOT and SOT Cranial as developed by Dr. M. B. DeJarnette. Certifications are offered for those candidates who successfully complete the required course work in the two distinct areas of study (Certified SOT Practitioner and Certified SOT CRANIAL Practitioner). In addition, there will be specialty certification available for candidates completing the prescribed course work for SOT Pediatrics. Reciprocity for certified SOT Practitioners and SOT Cranial Practitioners is being offered through December 2002 for SOT certifications of equitable standards. Likewise, reciprocity for comparable course work completed from other institutions or organizations will be granted once verified.

The Diplomate in SOT program will have no equivalent. This will be a structured curriculum which outlines the requisite study demanded of one possessing the credentials of an expert authority on the subject. This 300 hour program
will incorporate the foundational courses of the SOT certifications as well as additional courses in neuroanatomy and physiology, neuro-radiology, clinical applications and differential diagnosis and a variety of elective courses.
