Cranial manipulation can be found within almost every chiropractic
technique system. But chiropractic cranial procedures are often limited
and categorized with other adjunctive techniques – used secondarily to
adjusting the vertebral column. Although the central nervous system has
both cranial (the brain) and vertebral (the spinal cord) components,
few chiropractic techniques are based around the cranial portion of
this system. This article reviews some of the research associated with
the anatomy and physiology of the cranial system.
