Getzoff H, Ten Reasons Why I Like Sacro Occipital Technique 9th
Annual Clinical Meeting of the American Academy of Pain Management, Las Vegas, NV, Sep
1998.
Sacro
Occipital Technique (SOT) is based on the understanding, identification and treatment of
three bodily systems referred to as categories. The
three systems (categories) are: (1) The primary cranial sacral respiratory mechanism
(PCSRM), (2) the weight-bearing system of the body and the unified function of (3) the
lumbopelvic structures. It is not unusual for
the qualities of each of these categories to overlap and interrelate. One of three categories is chosen for care based
on specific SOT tests (indicators). Each
category has a specific adjusting protocol. SOT is an orderly arranged method with
specific outcome goals and system integrity.
